I paint because I have no other choice. Give and take, push and pull, in and out, on top, within, a space is shared... where contrasts complement. Through the act of painting, I connect with the material. By working ,listening, struggling, playing, and pleasuring in and with the materials, I form relationships. Painting is a human relationship. My painting is one of a rhythmic poetic space in which I see, listen and respond and work with the world around me. I navigate through my painting much like I navigate through this world. The passages of communication are recorded with marks and stains, paint and water. The impression left is the residue left from the conversations.
