Whirlwind, egg tempera on hardboard, 10"x9.5"

Whirlwind was a Southern Cheyenne chief and nephew of Black Kettle. His Cheyenne named is "Hevovitastamiutsto." He donated a portion of his allotment to what would become the Whirlwind Mission, an Episcopal mission led by St. David Pendelton Oakerhater.
